Donald Trump has berserk meltdown after learning about Robert Mueller’s testimony
This morning, Democratic Congressman David Cicilline from the House Judiciary Committee appeared on Fox News and revealed his committee’s expectation that Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify about the Mueller report on May 15th. Because it was on Fox, Donald Trump was no doubt listening. Although the date is still tentative and not set in stone, Trump has nonetheless gone berserk about Mueller’s testimony.
Donald Trump posted this surreal meltdown in response to the news: “After spending more than $35,000,000 over a two year period, interviewing 500 people, using 18 Trump Hating Angry Democrats & 49 FBI Agents – all culminating in a more than 400 page Report showing NO COLLUSION – why would the Democrats in Congress now need Robert Mueller to testify. Are they looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion? There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION. Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!”
Let’s start with the obvious. Robert Mueller’s team did not consist of “Trump Hating Angry Democrats.” Mueller’s report found that the Trump campaign absolutely did invite election help from the Russian government. Mueller also documented what nearly all legal experts agree are at least ten prosecutable instances of felony obstruction of justice. Trump is simply making things up here – and these are some of his most egregious lies to date.
The key part of Donald Trump’s meltdown is at the end where he yells “Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!” Trump just gave away that he’s absolutely petrified of Mueller’s testimony, and the impact it’ll have on the massive television audience watching at home. Trump is also clearly viewing this in terms of who “won” or “lost” and not in terms of justice or truth. He thinks that simply because his own criminal henchman William Barr initially lied about the Mueller report, Americans shouldn’t get a “redo” by hearing the truth this time. Trump just admitted that he thinks Mueller’s testimony will finish him off.
