Donald Trump goes completely berserk about John Bolton’s book

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

All day, we’ve known it was coming. Revelations from John Bolton’s upcoming book surfaced, and they’re even uglier than Donald Trump’s Ukraine extortion scandal. Instead of melting down on Twitter about it, Trump called in to the Sean Hannity show tonight and proceeded to go completely berserk.

After Trump spent a long time spewing total nonsense about a variety of topics, he finally got around to addressing John Bolton. Hannity tried his best to set up a false narrative about how Bolton is somehow lying, but even so, Trump still couldn’t come off as coherent.

Trump insisted that John Bolton “was a washed up guy, I gave him a chance.” Really? Trump felt it was a good idea to take a guy that he thought was “washed up” and give him the most sensitive national security position in the country? Sounds like Trump is pretty bad at hiring people. Trump then said that Bolton “broke the law. Very simple. As much as it’s going to be broken. This is highly classified.”

To be clear, there is no indication whatsoever that John Bolton’s book contains any classified information. Nor does Trump appear to have much of a strategy for pushing back against Bolton on the specifics. Instead Trump is simply going to bloviate about Bolton as loudly as he can, which is merely going to drive more sales of Bolton’s book.
