Donald Trump behaves like a jerk while on the phone with George Floyd’s brother

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After Joe Biden revealed yesterday that he’d spoken with the family of George Floyd, who was murdered by a Minneapolis police officer, Donald Trump insisted later in the day that he’d also spoken with Floyd’s family. People were skeptical of this, considering how frequently Trump flat out lies.

It turns out the phone call did in fact happen – but it was about as embarrassing as one might have expected. George Floyd’s brother Philonise Floyd has told MSNBC host Al Sharpton that Donald Trump did call, but it went poorly: “It was so fast. He didn’t give me the opportunity to even speak. It was hard. I was trying to talk to him but he just kept like pushing me off like ‘I don’t want to hear what you’re talking about.'”

That’s right, Trump clearly didn’t want to make the phone call, and he couldn’t even manage to fake any empathy. Nor did he want to give Philonise Floyd a chance to pin him down with any questions. Notably, Philonese voiced no such complaints about his phone call with Joe Biden – which tells you all you need to know.
