Despite the two hours of free advertising that he gets each day for his reelection bid during his press conferences, and despite the nation’s general willingness to initially give the benefit of the doubt to a sitting President as a crisis unfolds, Donald Trump still finds himself behind Joe Biden by about eight points in the polling averages. Here’s the thing.

If Trump had played things straight from the start of the coronavirus crisis, instead of trying to dishonestly manipulate it, his poll numbers might be five points higher right now. Instead he’s in as bad of shape as ever. What was he even trying to accomplish? He’s obviously running some kind of petty scam over hydroxychloroquine and the resale of emergency medical supplies. But whatever grift he’s running and however much or little money he’s pocketing from it, Trump’s antics have made it even harder for him to win in November.

Keep in mind that if Donald Trump loses in November, state and federal law authorities will be fighting over who gets to arrest him and put him on trial first. The guy’s life is over if he loses. Yet he still decided to approach the coronavirus crisis as a get rich quick scheme that could end up costing him everything.

Donald Trump is an idiot to begin with, and his cognitive abilities are now visibly failing him a bit more each day. Trump has become so pathetic, he’s now the victim of his own scams. It couldn’t happen to a more suitable person.
