Donald Trump is a “barricaded subject”
– Former Assistant FBI Director Frank Figliuzzi explained on MSNBC today that at this point dealing with Donald Trump is like “initial negotiations with a barricaded subject” – and that President-elect Joe Biden’s handling of Trump’s antics today is “right on the money.”
– Not sure why anyone thought the transition would go well. Trump spent years gutting the executive branch; there’s not that much left to transition. Also, we didn’t win an election; we (metaphorically) won a war. Trump is now a prisoner of war, threatening not to give up his secrets and threatening to blow up his own cell. Good luck to him on that. He has no leverage and he knows it. All he can do is try to negotiate a softer landing for himself.
– When Democrats do literally anything, the media narrative is “Democrats in disarray.” When the Republicans can’t get their story straight about whether Trump should concede, and they’re sending letters to the George Secretary of State instead of Georgia Secretary of States, you still never hear “Republicans in disarray.” Funny how that works.
– Tweet of the day, from Pete Buttigieg: “More than ever, I’m looking forward to January 20, 2021.”
