Democratic Congressman unloads on “barking mad, batsh*t crazy” Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

House Democrats are still working on winning the necessary court battles over testimony and evidence before they can start with any televised impeachment hearings against Donald Trump. In the meantime, Trump’s behavior – already criminal, horrifying, and deadly – has taken a sharp new turn in the psychological incompetence department. So now what?

Starting impeachment hearings in the House right now wouldn’t accomplish anything tangible, as the Republican Senate would then simply “exonerate” Trump the minute the House was finished. Until that testimony and evidence is in hand, there’s not much House Democrats can do, other than to make their case directly to the American people.

To that end, normally mild mannered Democratic Congressman Jim Himes tweeted this: “How does our country recover from this barking mad, batsh*t crazy. We can’t let ourselves become complacent to how totally insanely destructive this clown show is. Barack Obama would have been impeached 2 minutes after he posted this tweet. GOP, you have a lot to answer for.”

You see where this is going, right? Even before we get to impeachment, House Democrats are going to make sure the average nonpartisan American is fully aware that it’s the Republican Party’s fault that Trump hasn’t yet been removed from power. The “GOP, you have a lot to answer for” part of Himes’ tweet is ultimately more important than the “barking mad, batsh*t crazy” part.
