Barely even recognizable

It is becoming increasingly difficult to recognize our country. Donald Trump is in full authoritarian mode, including planning a fascist military parade. Somehow, Republicans see a different picture. Speaking to his fellow Republicans, Tom Emmer said that Trump: “… has been working at breakneck speed to undo the damage Joe Biden and Kamala Harris inflicted on our country over the past four years.” Really, can they point to ONE thing President Biden and VP Harris did that damaged our country? Of course not. They just make this shit up and use it to brainwash their sheep. No, it’s Donald Trump who is doing irreparable harm to our country, beginning with how other countries have begun to view us and even more importantly, how we view ourselves.
The Wall Street Journal released a scathing article called: “Trump is Trashing America’s Reputation.” Writer and editor Gerard Baker wrote: “America’s reputation, built on its ideals and burnished over centuries, is the greatest geopolitical brand ever created. But as someone put it to me this past week, we may be witnessing the greatest exercise in brand destruction in history.” Trump’s co-conspirators will blame “radical liberals,” but the Wall Street Journal is very much a conservative outlet. Donald Trump does not understand that “in your face” politics is not always the best way to go. Because all the milquetoast Republicans sit idly by and watch Trump destroy what it took years to build, history will not be kind to them. Oh, they can say things like: “That was Trump. I had nothing to do with that.” That’s where Republicans continued attempts to treat us like we’re stupid will fail. That’s where Republicans will fail.
As expected, other countries have retaliated against Trump’s tariffs, which he has now delayed with no credible explanation. He’s more like a yoyo than a leader. The real question is how do we stop this assault? The protests were awesome, but as we already know, Trump does what he wants to do and everyone else be damned. One thing we can count on is that once Trump’s damage hits its peak, those Republicans who sat silently by will never get elected to public office again. Trump can’t run again, no matter how much he banters that nonsense about, so he doesn’t give a damn about what people think of him. This will be the Republicans legacy-all of them. Those who are willing to cut Medicaid in some of the poorest districts in the country, and those who try to hurt inhabitants of this country in every way possible. They had better enjoy their positions while they can. No liberal-leaning or even moderate voters will vote for these people. Yes, Trump will be gone, but they must live down the legacy with which he left them. While many believe Trump can do little to turn his supporters away, Trump will be gone, and there is no guarantee that other Republicans can pick up the torch and run with it. This is your legacy, a legacy of despair, a legacy of fear, a legacy of hate, and a legacy of not caring. This is your legacy; own it.
