Steve Bannon has spent the past week selling out Donald Trump to Robert Mueller

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the past month we’ve seen increasing evidence that Steve Bannon was planning to sell out Donald Trump to Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Bannon made a point of dodging questions during his testimony before the Trump-controlled House Intelligence Committee. He’s repeatedly leaked to the media that he was saving those answers for Mueller. Now we have confirmation that Bannon has indeed spent the past week selling out Trump to Mueller. So now what?

Bannon has met multiple times with Mueller over the past week for a total of twenty hours of testimony, according to an NBC News report (link). It’s important to understand the context here. During congressional testimony, each committee member gets to ask questions, and much of it consists of grandstanding. A witness can “testify” before Congress for twenty hours and not give away all that much. But twenty hours of testimony to a prosecutor means that Bannon gave up everything.

Of course the specifics of Bannon’s testimony are not yet being reported, as secrecy is strategically important while Mueller uses the information to obtain additional warrants and/or indictments. But we don’t need a leak to figure out what all Bannon dished on. He witnessed most of Donald Trump’s obstruction of justice conspiracies for the first seven months Trump was in the White House. He knows plenty about how the Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the election. He knows what Trump knew and when he knew it.

Now we know that Robert Mueller knows everything that Steve Bannon knows. This is crucial because, unlike other cooperating witnesses such as Michael Flynn (fired after three weeks) and George Papadopoulos (never given a White House job), Bannon was in the Trump White House for the better part of a year. He knows things that they don’t. Trump recently ruined Bannon’s life and career out of spite. It appears he’s going to regret it, as Bannon just got his revenge.
