Donald Trump is going to go ballistic about what Philip Reeker just told the House impeachment inquiry

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier today Donald Trump threw a rare Saturday morning tantrum, and it was over the top even by his cartoonish standards. Palmer Report explained that Trump was most likely going berserk because he had tried and failed to prevent Acting Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker from testifying to the House impeachment inquiry. Reeker’s testimony is well underway, and some aspects of his testimony have already made their way to the public.

Democratic Congressman Stephen Lynch is telling the WSJ that Philip Reeker’s testimony is corroborating that of prior witnesses, and that he’s turned out to be a “much richer reservoir of information” than expected. This alone is bad enough for Donald Trump. But it turns out Reeker’s testimony isn’t just focused on the Ukraine quid pro quo extortion scandal itself, but also on the coverup.

Reeker’s opening statement spells out how Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and a few other top State Department officials were so eager to retaliate against U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch for not being corrupt enough, they quashed an internal State Department attempt at showing support for her. This kind of retaliatory action helps establish consciousness of guilt, and it makes Pompeo even more of a liability at a time when Trump is already growing openly exasperated with Pompeo.

If Donald Trump woke up in a terrible mood today because he expected Philip Reeker’s testimony to be bad for him, it turns out the testimony is even worse for him than anyone involved was expecting. Just wait til Trump, who is busy having a random Twitter meltdown about how much he hates San Francisco, finds out that today went even more poorly for him than he was expecting.
