Yesterday, far-right conspiracy theorist and Roger Stone ally Jerome Corsi announced that Special Counsel Robert Mueller informed him that he was just days away from being indicted in the Trump-Russia scandal. This morning, Corsi announced that he was expecting to get the phone call today about being indicted. Then he decided to sit down for an interview โ€“ only to have to abruptly cancel it after getting the dreaded phone call from Mueller’s office.

In a developing story, Jerome Corsi was supposed to give an interview to Daily Beast reporter Anna Schecter, but he had to blow it off at the last minute when his attorneys got a call from Mueller. Schecter then went on MSNBC and revealed this surreal series of events. It’s not known what specifically transpired during that phone call, but there are only a few possibilities.

The first and most obvious would be that Robert Mueller’s office called Jerome Corsi’s lawyers in order to inform them that he had been indicted and that he needed to surrender himself. Another possibility would be that Mueller’s office was contacting Corsi for some other reason, such as offering him a plea deal, or demanding that he stop doing interviews. Some have also floated the theoretical possibility that Corsi, a known liar and publicity hound, could merely be faking all of this for attention โ€“ but if so, he’s taking it dangerously far, even by his standards.

So now we await word on whether Jerome Corsi has indeed been called to surrender himself for arrest, and who else might be going down with him today. Corsi allegedly coordinated with Roger Stone and WikiLeaks, suggesting that anyone from Stone to Julian Assange could also be indicted โ€“ along with any number of other Trump-Russia people.
