Bad news for the three House Republicans being targeted today by the January 6th Committee

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The January 6th Committee has announced it’s seeking testimony from House Republicans Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, and Ronny Jackson. Here’s the thing. The committee is only doing this because it already has testimony and evidence confirming their actions. If they want to testify and defend themselves, that’s fine. If not, that’s also fine.

We’ll see if the evidence the committee has against these three House Republicans is enough to nail them in a “court of law” sense – but that’ll be up to the DOJ to decide to bring charges anyway. What this does mean is that the committee has these three House Republicans nailed in a “court of public opinion” sense.

Why does the court of public opinion matter? That’s the main thing that matters. The committee has to convince the general public that Trump and various members of the GOP criminally conspired against the United States, and that the GOP itself has done nothing to clean up its ranks, so that more of the general public will go out and vote Democrat in the midterms. It’s why the public hearings are taking place so close to the midterms; it’s by design.
