Bad news for Kyrsten Sinema
Arizona. It’s a state as beautiful as it gets. With its stunning red rocks, majestic parks, and sweeping canyons, it is no wonder so many people choose Arizona to retire. Arizona also has a certain Senator who represents this great state. And said Senator is not exactly popular in Arizona at the current time. This Senator is Kyrsten Sinema.
As Palmer Report has laid out for you, Sinema’s polling is dreadful, her favorable numbers under-water, and many Arizonians think she has betrayed them. One of the reasons the voters give for their ever-growing disappointment in the Arizona Senator is the issue of voting rights. This country wants voting rights legislation. We NEED voting rights legislation. And Sinema is against abolishing the filibuster.
This is causing both anger and deep disappointment among her base, who have been loyal and unwavering in their support. Many now feel they were lied to. And her voters are calling on her to do something — to act in a decisive way to get voting legislation passed.
Sinema will soon reach an impasse where she will have few options if she wants to remain in power. And make no mistake, she does. Many have said perhaps she does not care. After all, she could pick up some plush lobbying job.
I say wrong. First off, Sinema, if she continues to be a thorn in the side of Democrats, will never be able to accomplish much out of office because she will be persona non grata among all Democrats.
Republicans? They won’t be able to trust her. She’d have to change parties, and even then, most of the GOP will still look at her as a democrat.
This country is a lot like Arizona’s pride and joy — the Grand Canyon. Like this natural wonder, we are a stunning country, vast and regal and spread out. And like the Grand Canyon, this country has layers upon layers of history and antiquity.
And the American people want leaders who love this glorious country and do right by it. Sinema is not doing right by it at this time. Passing voting rights says that ALL our people have the right to vote no matter who you are or where you come from. If Sinema does not understand this and does not change her approach, her future in politics looks dismal.
