Bad news for GOP Senator Ron Johnson

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Sometimes the clock ticks, but some people ignore the ticking. And that’s not good. Because often, it is the people who watch the clock’s passage of time the least who need its help the most. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson is one of those people.

Johnson is up for reelection. Only he has not been acting that way. He is the same tired Ron, doing the same old tricks — mumbling about conspiracies, spreading disinformation, ignoring the clock.

And as a result of his own nonchalance, perhaps, the clock is ticking toward a disaster for him. Johnson’s reelection bid is in trouble. The Marquette Law School has done some detailed profiling on the embittered Wisconsin Senator. And what this research has added up to is bad news for the Senator. Key takeaways:

The electorate has “hardened” when it comes to Johnson.

There are very few undecided voters — much less than in elections past.

He has lost significant ground with moderates and independents.

It might be hard for him to improve his tarnished image.

This is good news for us. Picking up a Senate seat in Wisconsin is what we NEED to do. And we can do it, I believe. Ron Johnson has been a lousy Senator — one of the worst. And Wisconsin has long been a swing state.

Marquette combined all the polling it had done on Johnson and found that only 35% of his voters viewed him favorably. And his negatives are through the roof. This race must be on our “to do” list. We have the means and opportunity here. That does not mean Johnson cannot still win — he can. But his inability to swing to the middle has cost him dearly.

We can’t do as Johnson has done — meaning we can’t ignore the relentless ticking of the clock. The Wisconsin primary will be in August, and then we will have our candidate. And THEN, it must be all systems go in our efforts to take back Wisconsin.
