Bad news for Donald Trump Jr.

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Reports from multiple major news outlets have made clear that the January 6th Committee intends to make a criminal referral against Donald Trump on what could be various charges. The committee has also been subpoenaing everyone around Trump, and has begun the process of having the non-cooperators indicted for criminal contempt. But it’s been an open question as to whether the committee is going to target Trump’s family members – until now.

January 6th Committee member Adam Kinzinger is now telling MSNBC that it’s “obvious we would need some information” from Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle. This strongly points to the committee ultimately subpoenaing them as witnesses. And presuming they refuse to cooperate against Donald Trump, they’d end up referred for criminal contempt.

The committee has been doing things in a particular order, as these kinds of multi-layered probes tend to go. We’d guess that it would target Donald Trump’s family members as witnesses comparatively late in the game. We’ll see. But now Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle know they’re on the clock.
