Bad news for Donald Trump
We’re nearing the 100-day mark of Donald Trump’s presidency with just a week to go, which is in most cases a grace period for the president as they start their new administration and people are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for just about any reason at all.
All it requires you to do, should you be occupying the Oval Office, is to throw some red meat to your supporters, give a few rousing speeches and act on something that appeals to the moderates that can sway either liberal or conservative, depending on the overall mood of the country. Unless, of course, you happen to be Donald Trump, who’s somehow already got a lot of his core supporters kicking themselves because he’s exactly the person we all warned he was.
If you remember his first term, he scored some pretty awful marks towards the end of his first year after he called white supremacist rioters “very fine people” following protests in Charlottesville. Now, a Pew Research poll shows Trump with marks resembling what they were back then: 59% disapproval of his policies – with even immigration going underwater.
What’s worse is that he’s got a whole lot of room to go downhill before 2026, as we’re seeing him go nowhere fast on tariffs. The good news is that our efforts against Trump are working, and we’re seeing him already rush to expend significant political capital on results that are catastrophic. Our next job is to make sure he doesn’t find ways to scapegoat this mess as he topples on the way down. Let’s put in the work and help Democrats win in 2025 and 2026.
