Looks like Rudy Giuliani’s antics have backfired and motivated one of Donald Trump’s own people to testify against him
As with so many failed coverups that are approaching their endgame, the question now becomes which participants are going to stick to the script in the feeble hope the whole thing will somehow magically go away, and which participants are going to cooperate with the investigation in order to protect themselves.
For instance, senile headless horseman Rudy Giuliani has decided that he’s only in it for himself, and maybe for Donald Trump, but definitely not for anyone in the Trump administration. Rudy kept insisting, on everywhere from Fox News to Twitter, that the Trump State Department formally instructed him to try to conspire with Ukraine against Joe Biden. The reason: Rudy will face less prison time if he can prove he wasn’t acting as a lone wolf behind the U.S. government’s back.
Rudy took things so far in outing his coordination with the State Department’s Kurt Volker, including tweeting one of their text messages, Volker ended up resigning last night. It just so happens that Volker is on the list of State Department people who have just been subpoenaed to testify in the House impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump. Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen appeared on MSNBC on Saturday afternoon and stated that from what he’s hearing, Volker wants to cooperate.
In other words, Rudy Giuliani’s desperate desire to throw Kurt Volker under the bus has now resulted in a situation where Volker is about to throw Rudy under the bus. We have no idea if Volker did anything illegal, but we do know for sure that Trump and Rudy did – and we’re pretty sure that Volker has evidence and records of what Trump and Rudy were really up to.
