It’s Mueller Time, and Donald Trump is AWOL
The United States Postal Service has long had a motto: “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” The USPS is proud of that and except in the most extreme of conditions, if it is a mail day, the mail is delivered by those who take pride in their duties.
“President” Donald J. Trump has a similar motto, but apparently only for his Twitter account. After flying to Paris for the weekend to recognize the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Trump was scheduled to lay a wreath and observe a moment of silence at the Aisne-Marne American cemetery on Saturday, but called off his visit due to the rain.
On Sunday, as world leaders walked together up the Champs-Elysees in Paris all dressed in black to observe the century mark of the end of World War I, Trump arrived later, as did his handler, Vladimir Putin, apparently over “security concerns.” On Veterans Day, Trump skipped attending the Arlington National Cemetery memorial for fallen veterans, something that presidents have generally attended when in town. This is the same man who attacked President Barack Obama for how he treated the military, yet in every word and action, Trump shows his disdain for the military and what they have sacrificed.
One person who was working hard on Veterans Day was a true veteran and hero, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, whose apparent motto has become, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these counselors from the swift completion of their appointed indictments.” Buckle up, buttertrump, because Mueller Time is soon going to rain on your parade.
