I don’t know for sure if John Bolton will testify in the House impeachment inquiry. Neither do you. Neither does Donald Trump. For that matter neither does John Bolton. Everyone involved is awaiting a Monday court ruling about impeachment testimony. But Bolton’s sudden decision to come alive on Twitter this weekend is a signal that he believes the judge will rule in favor of testifying. Now it appears the Trump White House is indeed worried he’s going to testify.

When John Bolton began tweeting this weekend for the first time since departing the Trump regime, he accused the Trump White House of having blocked him from using his Twitter account all this time. Bolton even went so far as to accuse the White House of being worried about what he has to say.

If Bolton were merely trying to hype his upcoming book and he didn’t expect to testify in the meantime, he’d likely have waited to launch his Twitter offensive until after the House impeachment hearings concluded. Otherwise, why call attention to his own unwillingness to testify? It looks like the White House sees it the same way, as Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham appeared on Fox News and essentially accused Bolton of being senile.

Grisham said this about John Bolton: “Sometimes, I’ll use my father as an example, somebody who is of an advanced age may not understand that all you have to do is contact Twitter and reset your password if you’ve forgotten it so I’ll just leave it at that.” Keep in mind that Grisham officially speaks for Donald Trump and the White House. Much as we despise Bolton, this is an incredibly offensive thing to say about him. It could serve to give him more motivation to testify against Trump. In any case, we’ll see what the judge says on Monday.
