Arrest these Trump thugs now
Americans are legally allowed to protest over any stupid thing they want, so long as they’re peaceful about it. But these Trump thugs have breached the steps of the Capitol building, which by definition means they’re not peaceful. Arrest them now.
By the way, none of this means that Trump and his goons are now somehow magically winning. If anything, they’re embarrassing themselves to the point that it’s going to finish off what little was left of Trump’s political viability, and it’s going to harm the Republican Party’s electoral viability going forward.
But it’s clear that Trump’s thugs want to embarrass themselves one last time before Trump is off the stage. If they want to end up in prison over this, so be it.
