Mike Pence goes ape shit
Mike Pence has a problem – and no, we’re not merely referring to the fact that he’s a creepy weirdo who has a perverted obsession with what goes on in his fellow Americans’ bedrooms. No, we’re talking about the fact that the House Democrats, the media, and Donald Trump are now in a race to see who can take Pence down first. So perhaps it’s not surprising that the Pence robot’s programming has finally gone haywire.
This week the House impeachment inquiry sent a letter to Mike Pence, requesting that he turn over all documents related to Donald Trump’s Ukraine scandal. This came after Trump leaked evidence to the media that Pence was in on the Ukraine extortion scheme. Trump seems to want to take Pence down under the premise that it’ll increase his own odds of surviving this, while House Democrats want to take Pence down because it’s the right thing to do.
This brings us to Mike Pence, who responded to the House impeachment inquiry by issuing a statement which largely consisted of deranged ranting about the “no nothing Democrats.” The whole thing read like it was written by Donald Trump, and in fact it probably was written by Donald Trump.
Mike Pence is causing real harm to his own legal case by thumbing his nose to this document request in such bad faith. When this document feud gets in front of judge, Pence will lose because he responded this way. And if Pence ends up being criminally indicted when this is over, obstruction of justice will certainly be in play.
And yet Mike Pence decided that his best way forward was to issue an ape shit response to the House impeachment inquiry document request. Pence is clearly trying to please Donald Trump right now, to the extent of harming himself. Just what is Trump holding over Pence? It’ll all come out in the end.
