Another win for Joe Biden and the Democrats

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It is imperative that we keep Democrats in power after the midterm elections. Republicans obviously care nothing about anyone but themselves and refuse help of any kind to anyone. As Newsweek reported, 31 Republicans voted against humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine. Surely, Republicans can see pictures of what’s happening in Ukraine, yet they don’t care. News reports reveal that the Russian army has killed more civilians than it has soldiers, but Republicans could care less. What kind of foolishness is this? The Russian army is in Ukraine murdering people, and Republicans can give one damn. That is shameful.

President Biden secured another major bipartisan victory, even without the 31 Republicans who don’t give a damn. Mitt Romney, who is the flip-flopper from hell, claimed that he supported help for Ukraine but that the legislation was “rushed.” What is Mitt’s idea of “rushed?” These people need our help yesterday. When people are in need, “rushing” is the only way to provide the help that is so desperately needed. While Ukraine has done an admirable job of holding off Putin, they need all the help they can get. Fortunately, some Republicans get it, and the Act passed by a vote of 68 to 31.

According to Newsweek, half of the $13.6 billion will go to miliary aid for Ukraine, including sending troops to NATO countries in Europe. The rest is for humanitarian aid and economic assistance to the country. This package will also take care of home by funding the U.S. government and avoiding yet another shutdown. None of this means anything to the 31 Republicans who voted against the bill, which includes: Marsha Blackburn (TN), John Boozman (AR), Mike Braun (IN), Richard Burr (NC), Bill Cassidy (LA), Tom Cotton (AR), Kevin Cramer (ND), Mike Crapo (ID), Ted Cruz (TX), Steve Daines (MT), Deb Fischer (NE), Bill Hagerty (TN), Josh Hawley (MO), John Hoeven (ND), Ron Johnson (WI), John Kennedy (LA), James Lankford (OK), Mike Lee (UT), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Roger Marshall (KS), Rand Paul (KY), Jim Risch (ID), Mitt Romney (UT), Mike Rounds (SD), Marco Rubio (FL), Ben Sasse (NE), Rick Scott (FL), Tim Scott (SC), Dan Sullivan (AR), Thom Tillis (NC), and Pat Toomey (PA). None of these “no” votes should come as a surprise. Every one of them are on the anti-Biden train, and they will stop at nothing to try to make him fail even to the detriment of our country.

Republicans wonder why they must cheat to get into office and retain their seats. Perhaps, if they thought about human suffering occasionally or even what their constituents want, they would be a lot better off. Recent polls show that Americans support President Volodymyr Zelensky and have a favorable opinion of both him and President Biden while they don’t think a lot about Vladimir Putin, especially given all the civilian deaths that have happened at his hands. Republicans had better take note and try serving their people for a change.
