American Mob
As we approach the 4th anniversary of the mob attack on our Capital to overturn the 2020 election, it is time to recognize that the United States will soon be a mafia state. In many ways, it’s not surprising. The U.S. is a country of shallow Hollywood movie black vs white mentality. From Chicago gangsters and the Old West with guns part of the daily costume, to Disney versions of Elliot Ness and Wyatt Earp saving the day, Americans were sitting ducks.
Trump first came to power in 2016, then again in 2024, through thuggery. This is not a conspiracy theory. Trump was convicted on 34 felony accounts for election interference, and it’s detailed in the Mueller Report. Dark forces muscled into power via the Republican party through foreign interference and shaking down and bribing business people and government officials.
In 2016, Hillary told us the truth. In 2011, then-FBI director, Robert Mueller, warned that the international mafia had become more sophisticated, with “iron triangles” of organized criminals, corrupt government officials, and business leaders, that would impact everything from healthcare to gas prices.
I’ve written four spy novels about the underground economy and Russia’s mafia state. So news of Trump threatening the FDIC and possibly inciting bank depositors to move money offshore or into crypto is not surprising. But it is terrifying. Americans must face the fact that Trump voters are not just embracing autocracy and oligarchy. As of January 20, 2025, under Republican control, the U.S. will be a mafia state.
Trump has invited the world’s most corrupt foreign leaders to the inauguration, in a shocking break from tradition. Although some Democrats have promised to boycott it, some others have fallen in line. Some have begun blaming Democrats for Harris losing the election, instead of correctly accusing the oligarch controlled media.
Italian Fascism under Mussolini was a corporatist political system, “the merging of the state and corporate power” and now we have Bezos and Zuckerberg donating $1 million each to Trump’s inauguration, after Musk paid $250 million to get him elected. The GOP are set to revisit privatization of Social Security and other safety nets that G.W. Bush failed to do.
But this time around, the Trump administration is under closer scrutiny. Every move this mafia state makes must be contested. The atrocities against women, immigrants, and Ukraine alone should tank Trump and Republican party approval. The only way to deal with the next four years and beyond, is to demand that our elected officials, public servants, and the media take this administration for what it is, a criminal enterprise.
