Allen Weisselberg is about to become “collateral damage”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night news broke that was entirely expected: the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is on the verge of criminally indicting Allen Weisselberg, and potentially members of his family, for financial crimes. At the time Palmer Report pointed out that the DA’s goal here is not simply to lock Weisselberg up. Now someone with intimate knowledge of the situation agrees with us.

Michael Cohen, who has met with the Manhattan DA’s office more than ten times about the criminal case against Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, appeared on the Ari Melber show today on MSNBC. Cohen explained that “Allen Weisselberg is not the primary target in this investigation,” and that unless Weisselberg cuts a deal, “he will become collateral damage. His two sons as well.”

In other words, prosecutors are squeezing Allen Weisselberg as thoroughly as possible in an effort to get him to flip on Donald Trump and his family. Cohen pointed out today that prosecutors already have the financial documents to prove Trump’s guilt, so Weisselberg won’t actually be protecting Trump if he refuses to flip on him.

Notably, Michael Cohen added that his gut feeling is that Allen Weisselberg has already begun cooperating with New York prosecutors on some level against Donald Trump. Last night’s reporting said that Weisselberg could be indicted as soon as “this summer” if he fails to fully cut a deal. For reference, summer technically starts in four days.
