Alleged Pelosi laptop thief now in custody
Earlier today the FBI issued an arrest warrant for Riley June Williams, who stands accused of having stolen Speaker Pelosi’s laptop during the U.S. Capitol domestic terrorist attack, and who allegedly planned to sell that laptop to Russia.
Now she’s turned herself in and is in custody, according to CBS News and Politico. This is an important development because it eliminates the worst case scenario in which she might have fled the country and then sold the laptop.
The question now is whether she still has the laptop in her possession and has turned it in. Those details haven’t been provided yet. But if she did sell the laptop to a foreign government, we can’t imagine she’d turn herself in so willingly. We’ll see. This story is still developing.
