All hands on deck

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“My brain is constantly on fire.” This is from a Michigan voter voting in the midterms to protect abortion rights. “How abortion is shaping the U.S. midterms.” This is from a CBC article. “Roe your vote.” This is from — millions of voters.

There is a movement afoot, an energy sweeping the nation, and it all has to do with Roe. “Roe your vote” has not just become a rallying cry. It’s become THE battle cry. And as we head into the last weeks before the midterms, this battle cry is only getting stronger.

More states have begun prohibiting abortion. It just became illegal in the state of Indiana. In West Virginia, abortion is now only permitted in cases of rape, incest, or medical emergencies.

And of course, the GOP is giving us a bit of help as Trump stooge Lindsey Graham doubles down on his calls for a national abortion ban, as does former Vice President Mike Pence. So we need to keep the issue front and center. Many people don’t even KNOW this is happening.

I realize that sounds odd, but it’s true. I’ve talked to some of them. And it’s like many of us have said. How would one know if one doesn’t really pay much attention to politics? Not everyone is a political junkie. Most people aren’t.

Women are infuriated. That is true. But — and I can’t stress this enough — we need to ensure ENOUGH women are angry. We need to make sure our turnout numbers are through the ROOF.

Lines around the corner are what we want. To that end, registering new voters and offering lifts to the polls are excellent ways of impacting turnout. It needs to be all hands on deck from now until the midterms. Let’s do this! Let’s WIN.
