Alan Dershowitz melts down after Steve Bannon conviction

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Do you know what I despise? People who set out to get themselves talked about through abhorrent behavior. And then whine that they’re being “canceled” because of said behavior. It’s a problem. And the latest person to indulge in this type of behavior is Alan Dershowitz.

You remember the Dersh, right? He has repeatedly complained that people in upscale Martha’s Vineyard will not talk to him and that he’s lost friends. All because of his defending Donald Trump.

I have a theory about people like the Dersh. They simply want to be relevant. Dersh never met a television screen he didn’t like, and he seems to take great joy from taking positions that make no sense to the average person.

Case in point: The Dersh has declared that Steve Baron’s trial was “unconstitutional.” You read that right. Obviously, this is a very strong statement. So what is his argument, and does it make any sense?

The Dersh is arguing that the trial of Bannon should never have been held in DC because all people who live there are “Trump haters.” Sp he (Bannon) was denied his right to a fair trial.

This is an insane argument, and though I’ve never gone to law school, I believe my opinion is the right one. Is Mr. Dershowitz saying that any defendant needs only to be tried in a state where their politics are in alignment?

So, for example, does that mean that the insurrectionists should all be tried in Alabama or Mississippi because they’re red states? And does he think that if a liberal Democrat went to trial in West Virginia, the trial should automatically be moved to New York or Maryland?

This argument makes no sense and isn’t really an argument — it’s a way for Dersh to get his name out there and stir up controversy, which l admit he is very good at. The bottom line is Bannon had no case because he’s guilty. End of story.

Imagine if DC only had trials for democrats, and anybody who votes red got to see their trial take place in another part of the country. It’s a ridiculous argument, and honestly? On this one, the Dersh should have known better.
