Aileen Cannon can’t win for losing

On Tuesday evening, on the Joy Reid show, former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance talked about Judge Cannon. Vance says it appears that Cannon “resents” having to protect witnesses by keeping their identities private.

Vance remarked that it seems like Cannon wants to stay on the Trump case but also make life as difficult for Jack Smith as possible.

I agree. There is a bit of psychological warfare going on in Florida, people. It’s Cannon against Smith! Who do YOU think will win?

Vance made a VERY sharp observation — that even when Cannon rules for Smith — the few times she has — she only does it after raking him over the coals for some imagined slight.

“Even though she rules for him,” Vance explained. “She does it after really criticizing him for behavior that’s just not objectionable.”

When people engage in this kind of behavior, it’s called passive-aggressiveness. That is EXACTLY what Cannon is doing.

I am confident she likely DOES resent Jack Smith. She may resent his professionalism, his intelligence, and the fact that she doesn’t seem to be able to win against him.

“This Judge almost seems to resent having to protect them,” Vance declared, about the witnesses.

The fact is that Judge Cannon is in a losing battle. She simply cannot win against Jack Smith. I’d guess that is where this hostility of hers comes from. She may know she can’t win, and her hostility manifests itself in her orders.

I am looking forward with joy to the day Jack Smith appeals to the eleventh circuit. It’s coming. At this point, Judge Cannon does not appear to have any idea what she is doing, and I must admit watching her flail is rather fun.
