Donald Trump gives away just how scared he is of Omarosa’s tapes
Like the world’s worst poker player, Donald Trump always tips off who he’s afraid of, who he thinks he can bully, and when he’s become spooked. In the past day and a half Trump has managed to do all three of those things when it comes to his former White House senior adviser Omarosa. In the end, he’s tipped off just how scared he is of what else she has on tape.
First came Donald Trump’s vicious Twitter attacks against Omarosa, which lasted a day and a half, and reached a level of sexism and racism that were notable even by his depraved standards. Trump even tried directly pushing back against Omarosa’s claim that there’s a tape of Trump using the N-word on the set of the Apprentice. But then came today, and the game all changed.
Trump decided he needed to change the public narrative today, so he finally revoked the security clearance of retired CIA Director John Brennan, weeks after having threatened to do so. This petty and pointless move was obviously an attempt at a distraction of some kind. Distraction from what? We’ll see what else hits the newswires within the next day. But it’s what Trump didn’t say that spoke the most loudly. Even as Trump continued to rant about Peter Strzok and his other designated enemies today, he went silent about Omarosa entirely.
In the span of a day, Donald Trump has gone from hurling his most viciously aggressive attacks at Omarosa, to suddenly going silent about her and attacking everyone but her. Something has shifted behind the scenes, and Trump has gone from fearlessly trying to bully her, to being spooked by her. What does she have that we don’t know about? Trump just gave away that it’s coming.
