Adam Schiff flexes his muscles

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even as Donald Trump has repeatedly called for House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to be arrested (Trump can’t do that) and for Schiff to be impeached (that’s not even a real thing), Schiff has quietly been winning one battle after another when it comes to impeachment witnesses and testimony. When Team Trump tried a bizarre stunt today, Schiff flexed his muscles and won yet again.

Donald Trump tried to block his former National Security Council official Fiona Hill from testifying before the House impeachment inquiry today, so the House simply subpoenaed her, thus giving her a legal basis for defying Trump and testifying. That’s when Team Trump moved on to Plan B, which turned out to be far less sophisticated.

When Fiona Hill’s closed door testimony was getting started today, Trump’s ally Matt Gaetz decided to sit in on it. But in an entirely predictable result, CNN says that Adam Schiff had him thrown out, because Gaetz isn’t on any of the committees involved. Gaetz ended up leaving after the Parliamentarian agreed that he wasn’t allowed to stay, and that was that.

So there you have it. Donald Trump’s latest plan to save himself now consists of sending his goons into rooms and hoping no one notices that they’re there. Adam Schiff is banging heads around accordingly, even as Trump continues to whine about how unfair it is that he’s being impeached for his crimes.
