Adam Schiff defies the Trump-Barr coverup, confirms Trump Russia collusion

So much for “no collusion.” Donald Trump has been chanting and tweeting that phrase incessantly for the past year, and this past weekend his newly handpicked Attorney General William Barr conveniently announced that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report found no collusion. This is wildly in conflict with everything we’ve seen in Mueller’s court filings, and in plain sight. So what gives?

As this week has gone on, Barr has worked to mischaracterize and suppress the Mueller report, and the more it’s logically become clear that the report is damning for Trump. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is one of the people tasked with investigating Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, and in his position he’s been routinely briefed on classified evidence that he can’t publicly reveal. Schiff is now being quoted by the Washington Post as saying that “undoubtedly there is collusion.” He’s not saying he suspects collusion, or that he wants answers about collusion; he’s saying there is collusion.

Adam Schiff isn’t the only one who sees it this way. Even as he makes his conclusion from an insider’s perspective, the public is using common sense to come to the same conclusion. CNN released a new poll today, which was conducted entirely after the Barr summary was released. CNN asked, “Do You Think The Report Exonerates Trump of Collusion?” It turns out 56% of respondents said “no.” In other words, a majority of Americans think Barr is misleading them about what’s really in the Mueller report.

Now it’s a race to see who can get the truth out there, and the most quickly. House Democrats will subpoena the Mueller report, subpoena Robert Mueller himself, and subpoena William Barr, though not necessarily in that order. It’s now clear that Adam Schiff is about to use his position as committee chair to help get the truth out there about collusion as well. At this point there is no reason to believe that Barr’s ‘no collusion’ proclamation is anything close to what the report actually says. This also raises questions about whether Barr might have forcibly prevented Mueller from bringing collusion or conspiracy charges.
