A tragedy in four acts

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Act one: The Announcement. Setting: an escalator.

Donald John Trump came down that escalator. He then announced that he was running for president.

He was elected, changing the lives of virtually everyone in this country and wreaking havoc upon many.

Act Two: Only in America

During his time in office, Donald John Trump ripped babies from the arms of their mothers. He praised Nazis and flattered white supremacists, ruining the lives of many around him.

He did nothing to stem the tide of Covid. Many people died who did not need to. He lied. He plundered.

He tried to bribe Ukraine. He disparaged LGBTQ people and women and put on the Supreme Court three people would proceed to be duplicitous in ending Roe.

Act Three: the aftermath.

He lost in 2020. And refused to let go of power. Because of trump, a violent insurrection happened, causing violence, destruction, and death.

He stole documents — important documents — the peoples’ documents.

He left us with his legacy of violent hate and malevolent suffering, which we are still cleaning up.

Act Four: Justice. Setting: DOJ, Georgia, New York.

And now the punishment is afoot. This act in the tragedy of Donald trump still goes on. But we are almost there.

As I write these words, I look toward my television, where news is breaking that Jack Smith has subpoenaed Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. Expect a meltdown of epic proportions tonight.

You see, Jack Smith is not afraid. None of the people considering charges are afraid.

All his life, trump had gotten by on threats, bullying, and fake toughness. Not anymore. Nearly every day now there is news.

So act four goes on. And we are all participants as we wait for justice, which is happening now with deadly accurate precision. When will the final curtain fall on the long play of Donald trump? I don’t know, but soon I think and hope. Soon.
