A day late…

Thank you to everyone who shared well wishes. I’m starting to feel better. I’m not sure what I caught, but while it was severe, it fortunately came and went quickly. Be sure to get your vaccinations against everything that’s going around. So while I was laid up, what did I miss?

We still don’t fully know what happened in New Orleans. It’s a reminder that when trying to analyze these kinds of situations, it’s better to be a day late than jump the gun by being a day early. Meanwhile there are now media reports claiming that the guy who blew himself up in a Cybertruck outside a Trump hotel was a big Trump supporter, so none of that makes sense either. Again, it’s better to be a day late when analyzing these things than a day early.

We’ve also got Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts now trying to warn Donald Trump about defying the courts. Wait a minute. This is the same John Roberts whose Supreme Court gave Trump enough “presidential immunity” to avoid standing federal criminal trial before the election. Roberts helped hand Trump the ability to defy the courts, and helped put him back in power. And now Roberts is suddenly worried about Trump having too much power? It’s the latest sign that Roberts just isn’t all that smart. In fact these are the indecisive and self defeating actions of an idiot. What’s kind of scary is that someone like Roberts can be such an idiot and yet still ascend to such an important government position. Talk about failing upwards. And yet Donald Trump, a fully senile idiot, is about to become President of the United States. There’s something deeply wrong with our society.

So what else is going on? I opened Twitter yesterday and the first three tweets I saw were from Elon Musk, Alex Jones, and an account widely accused of being Elon Musk’s burner account. I don’t even follow any of these accounts. Yet Musk, amid his insecurity, has stacked the Twitter algorithm so thoroughly as to make his posts and his friends’ posts always come up first. It’s why I’m spending more time on Bluesky these days.

In any case, while I may be joining this new year a day late, I don’t want to do it a dollar short. Palmer Report has ongoing operating expenses which will get bigger as we scale up to lead the fight against Trump in 2025. If you’re able to contribute, please do so here.
