Michael Cohen is in even deeper trouble than we thought – and so is Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If the week begins with the FBI raiding your office and residence and seizing everything in sight, is there a way the week could end up getting worse for you? If you’re Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen, it turns out the answer is a definitive yes. The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York officially confirmed today that Cohen is under criminal investigation, and even that’s not the worst news he received today.

The start of Michael Cohen’s big trouble today is that he reportedly helped Republican National Committee finance director Elliott Broidy pay off a mistress and coerced her into getting an abortion. Broidy promptly resigned once the news surfaced, which will make it difficult for Cohen or Trump to yell “fake news” at the story. This is so many kinds of bad news for Cohen, it’s difficult to know where to begin – but we know it ends with George Nader and Robert Mueller.

This opens a Pandora’s Box when it comes to other similar situations that Cohen may have “fixed” for Trump or other major Republican Party figures. In other words, the Stormy Daniels payoff wasn’t some sort of desperate isolated incident that went beyond the bounds of how Cohen would normally act. Instead this establishes that he does this sort of thing on a recurring basis. Now that his communications have been seized, if there’s more, it’ll come out. But Cohen now has a bigger problem.

This latest development firmly ties Michael Cohen to Elliott Broidy. In turn, Robert Mueller has a cooperating witness named George Nader who allegedly funneled illegal donations into the Republican National Committee through Broidy. Nader is also said to have set up the Seychelles meeting between Erik Prince and Russia. What role did Cohen play in any of the above? You can bet that Nader is telling Robert Mueller all about it. And again, it’s difficult to imagine Cohen would ever make any move without involving Donald Trump.
