Donald Trump goes on rampage, confesses to obstruction of justice

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump launches into over-the-top morning Twitter meltdowns on such a regular basis, it’s more notable when he occasionally doesn’t explode in the morning. But this morning was different in that it was unusually over-the-top even by his standards. Trump fired off one tweet after another in rapid fashion, each more frantically deranged than the last, that observers were taken aback. One of the strangest moments of the rant: when he unwittingly confessed to obstruction of justice.

For the sake of proper context, here’s the full two-part tweet in which he addressed obstruction: “So much Fake News about what is going on in the White House. Very calm and calculated with a big focus on open and fair trade with China, the coming North Korea meeting and, of course, the vicious gas attack in Syria. Feels great to have Bolton & Larry K on board. I (we) are …. doing things that nobody thought possible, despite the never ending and corrupt Russia Investigation, which takes tremendous time and focus. No Collusion or Obstruction (other than I fight back), so now they do the Unthinkable, and RAID a lawyers office for information! BAD!” Did you catch it?

There’s really only one way to interpret “No Collusion or Obstruction (other than I fight back).” He just confessed that he has committed obstruction within the context of fighting back. It’s a clear reference to the people he’s fired and the countermoves he’s made to try to sabotage or shut down the investigation into his Trump-Russia scandal.

Make no mistake: although surely unintentional, this is a confession. If I accuse you of robbing banks, and you reply “I don’t rob banks (except when I feel they’ve treated me unfairly),” then you’ve just confessed to robbing banks. Donald Trump just confessed to knowing that his efforts to “fight back” against the investigation are obstruction of justice. Robert Mueller is going to have a field day with this tweet.
