Michael Cohen’s response to FBI raid suggests he might be flipping on Donald Trump after all

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

One day after FBI agents raided raided the office and residence of Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen and seized documents, Trump is publicly throwing a fit. He’s calling it a “witch hunt” and he’s complaining on Twitter about his supposed lack of attorney-client privilege. But now Cohen himself is commenting publicly in response to the FBI raid, and let’s just say that his response is something different entirely.

Michael Cohen is telling CNN that he thinks the FBI agents were “extremely professional, courteous, and respectful” during the raid. He says “I am unhappy to have my personal residence and office raided,” as anyone would be. He added that “I would be lying to you if I told that I am not. Do I need this in my life? No. Do I want to be involved in this? No.” Then he added that he thanked the FBI agents when they were done ransacking his place. This is a far cry from the arrogant and belligerent Cohen who had the infamous “Says who?” moment on CNN during the election.

So clearly Cohen is upset about getting raided, and he’s nervous about what’s going to happen to him. But he’s making a point of not blaming the FBI for the raid, and going so far as to praise the FBI agents who raided him. But if he is indeed upset, then there’s only one person left for him to be upset at, and that’s Donald Trump. After all, it’s Trump who dragged him into this mess, Trump who left him paying off Stormy Daniels with his own money in apparent violation of election laws, Trump who got his home and office raided, Trump who has exposed him to whatever criminal charges might be about to land on his head.

We would have expected Michael Cohen to be the very last person, outside of Donald Trump’s family, to flip on him. Yet Cohen is making a point of going directly against Trump’s sentiment that the raid was somehow an illegal violation. Instead Cohen is trying to make nice with the Feds. It’s enough to suggest that he might be flipping on Trump after all. That would be a stunning development, but at this point nothing surprises us.
