Without Hope Hicks babysitting him, Donald Trump is quickly spiraling out of control

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

To this day no one knows what Hope Hicks’s real job function was in the Trump administration, as she went through a series of different job titles for which she wasn’t qualified, and never seemed to be doing any of them. In fairness to Hicks, that can be said about essentially everyone in Donald Trump’s failing White House. But now that she’s exited stage left, Trump’s behavior is quickly spiraling out of control – or should we say, even more out of control than usual.

By all accounts, if nothing else, the presence of Hope Hicks helped to keep Trump less derangedly frazzled than he otherwise would have been. That often led us to wonder how he could possibly be even more derangedly frazzled than he has been during his illegitimate fourteen months in office, but now we’re getting our answer. Trump held a rally today which saw him calling Meet The Press host Chuck Todd a “son of a bitch” for no apparent reason, and that might have been one of Trump’s least bad moments.

At one point Trump attacked the European Union on Twitter. Then he tweeted this demented screed, which we’re still trying to unravel: “In the first hours after hearing that North Korea’s leader wanted to meet with me to talk denuclearization and that missile launches will end, the press was startled & amazed. They couldn’t believe it. But by the following morning the news became FAKE.They said so what, who cares!” Most of those words don’t even go together.

But don’t worry, because now that his babysitter Hope Hicks has left him, Donald Trump has a new strategy for getting back on track: fire all his other, less effective babysitters. Trump is now reportedly telling anyone who will listen that he plans to fire John Kelly, Jared Kushner, H.R. McMaster, and even his daughter Ivanka Trump. That would leave him with basically no one, and would ensure that he spirals even further out of control as he continues to finish himself off.
