Did Melania Trump just out herself as an illegal immigrant?
It’s the kind of scandal that would have received major attention over the past year, particularly when one considers her husband’s views on the matter, if not for the fact that her husband has had new scandals of his own on a daily basis. Melania Trump very much appears to have come to the United States and begun working illegally, which would make her an illegal immigrant under Donald Trump’s stated definition. Now Melania Trump may have just outed herself as being illegal.
Various major news outlets are now reporting that they believe Melania Trump may have come to the United States under an EB-1 visa, which is popularly known as the “Einstein visa.” The idea behind it is that if someone is considered a vital public figure, such as Albert Einstein, they’re allowed to immigrate to the United States even if the law wouldn’t otherwise allow it. We’re not discounting the contributions made to society by models, but if Melania came here on an Einstein visa, then she certainly violated the spirit – and maybe the letter – of the law. Combine that with Melania’s previous false and disproven claims about the year she came to the U.S., and it’s clear that she’s been trying to hide some sort of hijinks all along. Until now, apparently.
On Sunday evening, the official verified @MelaniaTrump account on Twitter “liked” a link to a YouTube video which exposed the questionable nature of her immigration and visa status. Why on earth would Melania decide to “like” this video? She could have done it by accident while she was watching the video. But since she inherited the official @FLOTUS account, Melania has very rarely used her @MelaniaTrump account. It doesn’t make sense that she’d even be logged into it while accidentally “liking” a video that helped expose her immigration problems. We don’t know if she’ll have undone the “like” by the time you’re reading this, but we took this screen capture:
The average American would not consider Melania Trump to be here illegally. She’s been in the United States for decades, she’s pursued a legitimate modeling career, and she isn’t known to have broken any laws once she got here, unless you count marrying a career criminal. But under Donald Trump’s own stated immigration policies, she’s “illegal” and her citizenship shouldn’t be valid. Melania has been subtly trying to cause problems for Donald since the Stormy Daniels affair became public. Is she now trying to cause new trouble for him by outing herself as an illegal immigrant?
