Ivanka the Terrible strikes again
Ivanka the Terrible. Terrible role model, terrible businesswoman, terrible liar and terrible excuse for a First Daughter. The unelected second-born child of the president, Ivanka Trump, seems to believe that she has some kind of divine mandate to represent America while also representing her brand and the Trump family business. Never before has the offspring of a president taken on such international and domestic responsilities without having any political or diplomatic experience, and the fact that she cannot get proper security clearance after thirteen months in the White House is a troubling thought.
Her husband, Jared Kushner, another unelected White House senior-staffer, has also failed to obtain proper security clearance, and yet is allowed to negotiate and meet with political leaders regarding highly sensitive American and international matters.
Ivanka, who spent the weekend at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, was to meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, and is also expected to lay down a hard line to North Korea about its nuclear weapons program. The fact that she has no working knowledge, background, education or practical diplomatic training in international affairs seems to matter not one iota to “President Trump” or his administration, his base or the cheerleaders at Fox News.
And to top it all off, the purveyor of overseas sweatshop-made shoes, handbags and clothing is expected to lead the American delegation of athletes during the Olympic Closing Ceremonies. I’m unsure what her athletic achievements might be to warrant such an honor, but I suspect the real athletes are unimpressed with the showboating, attention-grabbing seed of a grifter. It appears more and more each day that the Trump family sees itself as rulers, not servants of the public, and the behavior of Ivanka – with the blessings of the White House – is doing nothing to dispel this perception.
