Sean Hannity deleted his own Twitter account just for the attention
Fox News whack job Sean Hannity has spent the week melting down on-air as things have rapidly gotten worse for his co-conspirator Donald Trump. By the end of the week he was reduced to posting bizarre tweets about imaginary forms. Then his Twitter account vanished entirely, replaced by an error message saying that no such account existed. Hours later it came back online. Now we know that Hannity simply deleted his own account in a weird bid to get attention.
Hannity finally posted his first tweet on Saturday night after his account came back to life. Here’s what he had to say: “I’m baaaccckk… a lot to say- Thanks for the support all you deplorable, irredeemables. Can’t get rid of me that easy. Too much work to do exposing #deepstategate—Monday’s a big day…tick tock.” It’s not surprising to see him continuing to rant about imaginary conspiracies. What is surprising, however, is what he left out.
If Twitter had suspended his account for violating the terms of service, or even if Twitter had deleted it by accident, Hannity would be spinning it as a liberal conspiracy to silence him and his pro-Trump message. Instead he’s merely acting like he’s not even upset that his Twitter account went poof. In other words, he forgot to act outraged. That can only mean that he deleted his own account for attention, and then forgot to finish trying to sell the stunt.
So why do these kinds of foolish antics matter? Sean Hannity is Donald Trump’s most prominent remaining apologist in the media. He’s been gradually coming unglued for some time now. The more severely and embarrassingly he unravels, the more his dishonest defenses of Donald Trump lose credibility. Hannity is rapidly dissolving into Alex Jones. At a time when Trump needs his media propagandists more than ever, they’re falling apart on him.
