There are tapes of Donald Trump – and Omarosa has them

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you’ve ever wondered why Donald Trump kept bringing back scheming reality show star Omarosa no matter how many times he fired her, the answer may have finally emerged: she now says that she has tapes of Trump. That’s a problem for Trump, now that his Chief of Staff John Kelly recently fired Omarosa from her make-work White House job. How ugly are the tapes? Omarosa seems to think they’re going to be of interest to Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

It’s not clear precisely what these tapes are. But we know they can’t simply be the long-suppressed tapes of Trump saying racist things on the Apprentice, because the New York Daily News is reporting that Omarosa expects Mueller to come calling for the tapes in question (link). Unless she’s somehow magically gotten her hands on the Pee Pee Tape, we’re left to assume that she was making secret recordings while she was in the White House, and that these recorded conversations serve to incriminate Trump and/or other key players in the Trump-Russia scandal.

Omarosa is every bit as much of a liar as Trump is, so there’s always the possibility that she’s lying about having tapes. But the NYDN reports that she’s going as far as preparing to hire a high profile attorney, which suggests that she really does expect to end up dealing with Robert Mueller. It’s difficult to imagine even a schemer like her taking things this far unless she really does have incriminating tapes that are relevant to the investigation.

It was never clear why Donald Trump gave a poorly-defined yet very high-paying White House job to Omarosa, the only one of his former Apprentice contestants to land such a job. If she was making secret recordings of Trump in the White House as an insurance policy, it suggests that she may have been doing so during the Apprentice days as well. This raises the question of whether she may have blackmailed her way into getting that White House job in the first place. It was John Kelly, and not Trump, who abruptly fired her last month after a reported fight during a Christmas party.
