Donald Trump’s new Wall Street Journal interview reveals he’s even further gone than we thought

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yes, Donald Trump is dangerously and malignantly mentally ill. I’m not a doctor, but he’s so blatantly mentally ill, it doesn’t take a doctor to see it. He’s also displaying increasing signs of senility. But it turns out Trump is even further gone than a cynic like me thought. He’s given a just-published interview to the Wall Street Journal, and…. dear lord. This is just so… uh… well, we’ll let Donald tell it.

Here is Trump’s response when the WSJ dared to mention the name of his former close political partner and newest enemy, Steve Bannon: “Just—and so—so I was successful, successful, successful. I was always the best athlete, people don’t know that. But I was successful at everything I ever did and then I run for president, first time—first time, not three times, not six times. I ran for president first time and lo and behold, I win. And then people say oh, is he a smart person? I’m smarter than all of them put together, but they can’t admit it. They had a bad year.” Uh, mentally stable people don’t talk like this. Ever.

Oh, and the FBI agent he’s spent the past month lying about? Now he’s flat out accusing that agent of treason, and he’s using that precise word: “I mean, this is the FBI we’re talking about. I think that is—that is treason. See, that’s treason right there. By the way, that’s a treasonous act. What he tweeted to his lover is a treasonous act.”

We all know why Donald Trump is suddenly accusing the FBI agent of “treason.” This comes shortly after Steve Bannon accused Trump and his son of participating in a “treasonous” plot with Russia. Trump projects these kinds of accusations and faults onto other people on a pathological level. But this is unreal. Trump is even further gone than we thought.
