Sebastian Gorka goes rogue against Donald Trump
You all surely remember Sebastian Gorka, the alleged neo-Nazi and confirmed racist who held a high ranking position in the White House for most of Donald Trump’s first year in office. He was tossed out the door when John Kelly stepped in and began trying to give Trump the appearance of respectability, and since that time he’s mostly become irrelevant. Now Gorka has found a way to insert himself back into relevance, if only for a day, by adding to the growing chorus of former Trump people who have gone rogue against him.
To be clear, Gorka isn’t quite pulling a Steve Bannon here. Bannon went so far as to accuse Donald Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr of “treasonous” activities toward Russia, in an infamous moment that has shifted the entire national dialogue about the Trump-Russia scandal. Gorka is simply admitting that Trump is lying about something that the rest of us might not care about, but it’s important to Trump.
After Michael Wolff released an insider book which painted a humiliating picture of crazed idiot Donald Trump and his inept White House, Trump fired back by insisting that he had never given Wolff any inside access, and that the entire book was essentially faked. Trump tweeted “I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!”
Now Sebastian Gorka has penned an op-ed whose supposed purpose was to discredit Wolff’s book, but he ended up doing the opposite. Gorka flat out admits that he was told by unnamed higher-ups that he should speak with Wolff for his book. In so doing, he’s directly contradicting Trump’s claim that no insider access was given to Wolff. Why is Gorka going rogue like this? Who knows? He’s just the latest former Trump adviser to do so.
