Donald Trump begins late night Twitter meltdown about Michael Flynn and Hillary Clinton
Here it comes. It took him a day, but now Donald Trump has begun a late night Twitter meltdown about Michael Flynn, the former National Security Adviser and campaign adviser who cut a plea deal against him yesterday in the Russia scandal. Trump already posted one tweet about Flynn on Saturday morning, in which he accidentally confessed to obstruction of justice. But now Trump is back at it again, and it’s going further off the rails by the minute.
Late on Saturday night, Donald Trump tweeted “So General Flynn lies to the FBI and his life is destroyed, while Crooked Hillary Clinton, on that now famous FBI holiday “interrogation” with no swearing in and no recording, lies many times…and nothing happens to her? Rigged system, or just a double standard?” No one seems to have any idea what he’s talking about when it comes to Hillary Clinton. But he’s once again treading on highly dangerous legal territory with respect to Michael Flynn.
Earlier on Saturday, Trump tweeted that he knew Flynn had lied to the FBI. In so doing, he admitted that he was obstructing justice when he asked the FBI Director to let Flynn off the hook. After Trump realized that he’d just confessed to a felony for all to see, he comically claimed that his attorney had written the tweet in question. Even though some of the mainstream media is going along with that (obviously false) claim, Trump is now digging a new hole about himself by continuing to tweet about Flynn.
Trump followed it up with this deranged and lie-filled tweet about Clinton: “Many people in our Country are asking what the ‘Justice’ Department is going to do about the fact that totally Crooked Hillary, AFTER receiving a subpoena from the United States Congress, deleted and ‘acid washed’ 33,000 Emails? No justice!” At the moment it’s not yet clear how much further Donald Trump will go tonight with his Twitter meltdown about Michael Flynn. The more Trump tweets about Flynn, the more indictments Special Counsel Robert Mueller will end up being able to bring against Trump. We’ll keep you updated.
