Tulsi Gabbard just stepped in it
Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General has already failed. Now, with Senate hearings getting underway, it’s a question of how many more of his nominations end up failing. One prime candidate to wash out is Tulsi Gabbard, who in addition to everything else that’s wrong with her, apparently has no idea what job she’s even nominated for.
Republican Senators are tipping off the media to the fact that Tulsi Gabbard has no idea what the “Director of National Intelligence” even does. This isn’t a surprise, given Gabbard’s craptastic political history. But it is a big deal that Republicans are leaking this stuff. It means they’re trying to force Trump to withdraw the pick before a vote can even happen.
We’ll see what happens. Republican Senators, obviously, can’t be trusted to do the right thing. But at least some of them have clearly decided that some of Trump’s nominees are so absurd, they’re bad for business.[mashshare shares=”false” buttons=”true” align=”left” services=”3″ size=”small”]
