Score another one for President Joe Biden
When I was a little girl, I thought Superman was real. With the haunting Superman music pounding through my head, I would , as a child, gaze out with yearning, at the blue skies, hoping in vain to see the stuff of dreams, Superman flying through the air right past my window so I could joyously wave at him. Children do have some funny ideas.
Of course I know that Superman does not exist for REAL. But, my friends, in politics, very occasionally super politicians do. And on this day, it seems as the perfumed fragrance of roses drifts toward my window, its aroma is even more captivating than usual. The trees seem greener, the winds friendlier as they blow a gentle and delighted breeze. It would not surprise this writer to see the deer that often frequent my yard doing cartwheels. Why? Because, as I said Superman does not exist. Super-JOE in fact DOES.
“Israel and Hamas reach deal on Gaza ceasefire and hostage release.” It’s happened! This deal was reached Wednesday and starts this Sunday. Dozens of hostages will be released and this could not have happened without President Biden who has been pushing for it for MONTHS.
This deal will have several phases. In addition to the release of hostages, large amounts of aid will be shipped to Gaza. Biden spoke about the deal and celebrated it. I too am pleased. I am sure YOU are as well.
Donald Trump has already tried to take credit. But no. This was SUPER-JOE. It is Joe Biden whom history will remember. It is Joe Biden who worked hard with other countries to see this deal through to completion.
The moral to this story? We may not have Superman in the conventional sense, but we do have a political Superman, and this political Superman has just accomplished what so many thought impossible. [mashshare shares=”false” buttons=”true” align=”left” services=”3″ size=”small”]
