This will be no picnic for Donald Trump
Confirmation hearings are heading our way. Confirmation hearings are coming up for a bunch of INCOMPETENT Trump-loving rats hungry for love and positivity, yearning to slide their asses into partisan seats at desks that were not made for them, and begin wielding power they wouldn’t know how to use competently if they tried.
Tulsi. Hegseth. Bondi. Rubio. Patel. These and many others are going to take their seats as the eyes of Senators bore into them, and they might just feverishly think to themselves: “Not too hard, go easy, please don’t ask me any tough questions.”
They’ll likely get their wish with Republicans except perhaps Susan Concerned Collins, who will concernedly ask concerned questions, nodding her head slowly as she tries to snow her audience into thinking she hasn’t already decided precisely how she will vote.
But Democrats will not let these cabinet nominees off with polite smiles and light congratulations. Oh no, not OUR party. Reportedly, Chick Schumer is hard at work building a plan to ask these people as many tough questions as possible.
Schumer said this week in a meeting that Democrats need to bring the heat to these hearings and turn it on e high. According to Axios, Schumer explained: “Republicans spent four years attacking the Demcratic brand and we need to use the hearings to begin returning the favor.”
Schumer also told his fellow Democratic senators that they need to seize hold of the narrative and show with their questions how highly damaging some of these nominees would be. In the meantime, Republican Senators are having a cow about these hearings. Several of them are doing what they do best — whining.
Accusing Dems of “delaying and obstructing,” Republicans are crying foul. They say Democrats are stalling on the confirmation hearings and appear angry and as red-faced as weenies on sticks, which is EXACTLY what they are.
But Democrats want to wait until all the paperwork comes in. After all, it isn’t their fault that some nominees can’t even get their paperwork back on time. So this promises to be both entertaining and very enlightening. It also will not be any picnic for the nominees as much as they wish it were.
