GOP frets as Donald Trump begins to unravel already

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

It is not surprising that attorneys when advising their clients, tell them never to erupt on the stand. Answer questions calmly. DO NOT get upset. Do not have temper tantrums. The reason for that advice, is because people are less likely to take an angry and ranting person seriously. When a person is cool and calm and collected—THAT IS WHEN—they can get their point across sounding rational and confident.

This logic applies to everything, including politics. It should come as no surprise then that Republicans are growing increasingly concerned about the hysterical, blindingly orange flim-flam man who won’t stop oozing orange rage late at night with social media posts.

“Old habits.” Trump has been indulging in his favorite thing—yelling. First, he had a meltdown about Judge Merchan. Next, he had one about Liz Cheney. What will it be next—the weather? And Republicans are becoming concerned. It’s no wonder! Having a malignant narcissist as one’s leader surely cannot be easy.

The House Republican majority is hanging by a thread. It won’t take much to cut that thread. So what Donald Trump SHOULD should be doing is talking about his plans—in a calm and sensible manner. But when has Trump ever been calm and sensible about ANYTHING?

So you can see the problem here. Some members of the GOP worry that he’ll once again become a social media president, refusing to stop ranting and raving and, of course, turning the American people against him.

That is precisely what will happen. Trump finds imaginary slights in everything. The man could bite into a cookie and then start yelling about how the cookie is part of the deep state.

Trump had a meltdown the other evening where he angrily claimed he has the most significant mandate in 129 years, a claim that at first left this writer speechless and then left her awash in a pile of giggles — gosh, but it feels GOOD to laugh at the man! Old habits die hard.

But this is not good for Republicans. I mean — having a simpleton like Trump was NEVER EVER good for them, but his angry rants are causing damage, and it’s damage that does not need to happen. If he can’t get it together, things will only worsen for the party in red.
