What a complete mess
We’re already getting a glimpse into how inept Republican governance we’ll be and Donald Trump isn’t even in charge. Of course, it stands to reason that Donald Trump is trying to blame the mess in the GOP-led Congress on President Biden, but that’s not going to be a sustainable trick in just a month from now – but it doesn’t make much more sense even now, with Speaker Mike Johnson being more unpopular than ever – but for the wrong reasons.
Elon Musk has been actively dissuading House Republicans from agreeing to any bill with a continuing resolution – deliberately undermining the House speaker and screwing everyday Americans in the process should we endure another government shutdown.
The GOP is not a serious party and if Musk is pulling this stunt to make Donald Trump look good by coming up with a deal, it’s going to backfire. All this is doing is proving that his party can’t govern while putting himself at risk, as Donald Trump’s own approvals will be harmed out of the gate.
It’s hard to ignore that the stock market numbers are dropping just as the deadline is coming upon us – particularly as that’s the kind of thing that Trump himself likes to take credit for when it’s doing well. Republicans can’t govern and they don’t even care to – that’s our message from now through 2026 when we vote them out of office.
