This is the stuff of clowns

Forgive me if this one sounds a bit feisty, but I’ve got to get this off my chest. Over the past week the Democrats have had an internal contest to decide the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee. The two options were Gerry Connolly, a savvy political veteran, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a savvy up and comer. I didn’t spend any time focusing on this contest because who cares? Either option was 100% fine with me.

Now it turns out the Democrats have chosen Connolly. Okay fine. Works for me. I’d have been equally fine with it going the other way. AOC will have a leadership role soon enough one way or the other. Everything worked out fine. So let’s join with the Democrats and fight this battle against Trump, the Republicans, and the complicit media? Right? Right?

Apparently not. Instead of getting with the program and joining the battle, an endless stream of folks on our side are now lashing out at the Democrats on social media for… well, they don’t really seem to know what they’re upset about. They’ve decided that the Democrats have “blown it” by going with Connolly, a savvy proven veteran, and that the Democrats have “learned nothing” from this election. Don’t get me started on these kinds of morons.

For one thing, if the Democrats had gone with AOC instead of Connolly, these same people would have no doubt found a way to bash the Democrats for that. What you have to understand is that a large chunk of vocal people on our side are only interested in politics inasmuch as they can try to make themselves look and feel superior by bashing their own side’s leaders. It’s nothing but a circle jerk for them. “Hey look at me, I’m smarter and more fierce than all the Democratic leaders put together!” They’re the political equivalent of the drunk at the end of the bar who insists his football team’s coach is an idiot for not throwing a long pass on every play. The difference is that sports enthusiasts know to ignore the boastful simpleton at the end of the bar. In politics, we make our boastful simpletons go viral.

And you really don’t want me to get started on these morons on our side who think the Democrats “blew” this election and the party to clean house. Were any of these people even awake in 2024? The media dishonestly forced the incumbent Democratic President out of the race with a hundred days to go, in one of the most deranged ratings ploys in history, and these morons are blaming the Democrats for it? Did they miss the part where, after the media rigged the election, the Democrats still came within about a point of winning?

I’m sorry, I just can’t with these kinds of dummies. They insist that they’re “holding the Democrats accountable” but all they ever do is hyperbolically and/or inaccurately bash the Democrats in an effort to make themselves look smart in comparison. It’s absurd. And they’re just so clueless. These types nearly always blame the DNC, even when it comes to matters that have nothing to do with the DNC. It should be a general rule that in order to critique the DNC, you should have to know what the DNC is and does. Almost none of these types ever do.

I’ve absolutely had it with the folks on our side who, even in the midst of this difficult and crucial battle we’re facing against the evil Republicans and the complicit media, are still only focused on trying to make themselves look smart and fierce at the Democrats’ expense. If this were a real battlefield, these idiots wouldn’t last ten seconds. We’re facing seriously evil enemies right now on all sides. Whining about the Democrats, at a time like this, is the stuff of clowns.
