New trouble for Donald Trump’s Tulsi Gabbard nomination

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Many have felt from the beginning that Tulsi Gabbard was a horrible choice for the Director of National Intelligence. At best, Gabbard is a Russian propogandist. Why should she represent our country in any capacity, let alone in Intelligence? She seems so enamored of Russia that should she find out about intelligence against Putin, she might well give him a “head’s up.” She ran for president as a Democrat, but who knows what she calls herself these days. She’s just not suited for that type of position. Apparently, others agree.

She’s reportedly not doing well with her meetings. Jewish Insider reported that members of the Senate Intelligence Committed were “underwhelmed” by her and her foreign policy positions. She was apparently supportive of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad when she visited the country in 2017. Suddenly, she now “wholeheartedly agrees” with President Trump. One (unnamed) Republican senator told Jewish Insider: “The Intelligence Committee members are really, really concerned about her. Her interviews have not been going well. One told me she was the worst-prepared candidate and was kind of trying to get by on her BS personality.” Even he sees right through her. She’s not qualified for this position, so all she can do is try to bullshit her way in. Yet another Republican said: “I can’t tell, she’s just gotten started. She had her first few meetings today, but she’s got a long way to go.” They are also obviously concerned about her support for Assad. Back in November, Thom Tillis (R-NC) didn’t like Gabbard’s “questionable” views on American allies and enemies. Tillis said: “I’m going to have to have a very compelling story for anybody who’s going to influence policy in Ukraine. …I have no intention of supporting anybody who equivocates on support for Ukraine.”

It sounds as though Gabbard has a tough hill to climb to secure this position, but she’s not alone. Matt Gaetz withdrew because of scrutiny. National security choices are vital to the U.S. You can’t just put anyone in these positions without assuring that they can successfully fill the role. Trump doesn’t care; he continues to choose questionable people, such as Kimberly Guilfoyle. According to sources from Raw Story, the choice of Guilfoyle is not a coincidence since the Daily Mail recently reported seeing her so-called fiancé Don Jr. with another woman. As Raw Story reported, ambassadors typically live in the host country, which would obviously keep Guilfoyle and Don, Jr. apart, so speculation is rampant that the engagement is off.

Beyond that, like Gabbard, Guilfoyle has no experience whatsoever in this arena, and she likely knows very little about Greece. Raw Story quoted A.J. Delgado, who is a former aide of Trump’s: “I’m still amazed that Jr. had his dad give his dumped girlfriend a job FAR, FAR away and ‘out of the country,’ so that he won’t have to run into her. This is epic levels of humiliation.” Leave it to Trump. His appointments have nothing to do with what’s best for the country; it’s all about what’s best for Trump.
